Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo and other stars of
yesteryear dusted off their boots for a charity match in Hamburg that also involved current Premier League star Didier Drogba.
The two footballing greats called up their pals for
the Match Against Poverty charity kick about
against a Hamburg eleven.
The team assembled by Zidane and Ronaldo
included Drogba, Luis Figo, Gheorghe Hagi, Pavel Nedved, Fabio Cannavaro and Steve McManaman.
The star names taking part didn't end there with
Robert Pires, Jens Lehmann, Claude Makelele and
Dwight Yorke also involved in the game.
The Hamburg team didn't look too shabby either, with Ze Roberto, Jorg Albertz and Tony Yeboah part of their selection.
The final score was 5-4 to the Ronaldo, Zidane
and Friends team, with the original Ronaldo
scoring one of the goals of the game.
The majority of the money made from the match
went to helping people who live in the horn of
Africa, who are currently experiencing a food
crisis.
The rest of the cash will be donated to
community projects by Hamburg.
Ronaldo and Zidane have been part of the Match
Against Poverty since it started in 2003.
